Engine Install Questio

I have an 03 Cobra Mustang with supercharger and twin Hellion turbo 61mm kit installed. I recently blew my engine and had it rebuiltit. The shop is charging me 5000. To take out and install the engine along with the turbo kit. Is that a good price?Also what is a the average price for taking out and reinstalling it along with the turbos. I know the kit is a plug and play.

Probably. Think most charge around 24 hours for removal and installation plus added hours for the turbo kit.

I would be more concerned about reputation than price as that's a better indicator of future expectations based on past performance. Price seems fine to me too. I'm hoping you did some legwork first. Best of luck to you, would like to see the results at some point!

What’s the shop rate? How many Hours to R&R? Seems expensive to me. Engine out should be 6hrs.

Its been a couple years but last time this was surveyed on here R&R of the motor (no turbo kit) was around 1500. 3500 to reinstall a turbo kit seems excessive, it's already been installed so theres no fab work or anything that needs to be done.

Chances are if you blew the last motor and have another long block to drop in. turbos, intercooler, intake, oil lines, and ect... all need to be gone through before dropping in the new long/short block. Could see 5k not a problem then.
