Kilometers to Miles Swap?

My ‘04 was originally exported to Canada so the Speedometer and Odometer are in kilometers.

I would like to swap out the kilometers speedometer/odometer for one that reads miles, and have the odometer set to retain the current mileage on the car.

How would I go about making the swap?

I'd talk to a dealership, you really want this done right so it's documented. If not you could have a low mileage car drop to the value of a salvage title/theft car.

It was common for ford to replace the clusters in early sn95 cars because of odometer failure. Ford would put a decal on the car verifying the work was done and what mileage.

Hmmm, I wonder if the cluster service mode has this option. With key off press and hold the trip reset button while starting the car. It puts the cluster in service mode. Allows you by to read check engine lights ect. Maybe there is an option in there to toggle between the 2.
