My 08 has SW Long Tubes with their cats and with my CORSA TOURING mufflers is was still toooo loud from mid to full throttle. I mean stupid loud!!
So, on went (2) 18" SS resonators and my problem was solved . Still loud at WOT but more tasteful all around.

EDIT, Both the Corsa Touring and Resonators are flow thru design and synergistically cancel obnoxious exhaust noise effectively.

Just my 2 cents from the cheap seats.

I just ordered a set of the Borla Touring's off Amazon so I can atleast return them if needed.
From what I gather these seem to be the best of all worlds over all and still provide some great tone with all else being open, but not obnoxious.

Thanks for the help guys.

I have the Borla Touring, they sound great on cold start, slightly louder than stock at idle, and loud throaty muscle car sound at WOT. You won't be disappointed. If it's not loud enough for you, you could always add an H-pipe to make it deeper. Anything louder would be too loud for my taste. My car had Magna flow 3' competition cat backs and mufflers when I got it. Sounded great, but that got old after a year. It was just too loud. Still have the Magna comp axle backs if anyone's interested.

Thanks man, Im deff pumped to have it sound like it makes the power it does. lol.
Remember this has a Long tubes and an ORX. So it should rip regardless. I just couldn't pull the plug on the other setups. I hate rasp, i hate drone. I come from an old pushrod car too and hate the rasp of the Yote cars.

Hopefully these things get louder.
I installed them today and first start, they were actually quieter than my OEM mufflers.
Gonna take for a drive tomorrow, but I have a feeling these really aren’t any louder than stock.

Mine got louder over time, probably because I've blown them out haha. But if those aren't loud enough for you, you could get some Borla ATAKs, those are definitely louder. Similar flow thru design as the KR mufflers. Or Flowmaster Thunder series

Man, I really thought these would be knarlier at startup atleast than my stock mufflers.
Maybe I just blew the stock mufflers out. Lol.
I guess I’ll drive tomorrow to see before returning them.
I got a pretty rowdy fully built car that sounds stock, this kills me.

Ya, that's the problem with sound. It is very subjective and each person hears something different. Some people will show me their new exhaust, and I'm thinking I hear trumpets or angry bees lol. Volume is also tolerated differently by each individual. I've had quite a few exhaust set ups trying to get the right tone. You'll never find the perfect sound, they all drone slightly or more at different RPMs. But if they don't drone, they will trumpet slightly. It's a give and take of what you're willing to accept. You'll find what you like eventually.

Do they atleast have a better tone than stock with less rasp?

At startups, no.
I haven’t driven them yet. It’s been forever since I had brand new mufflers but I wanna say I remember them getting louder and changing tone in time.
I really hope this is the case here and I am getting worried for nothing.

They do a pretty decent job with volume at idle and light throttle. The noise level/volume was progressive with throttle. Give them a test drive and open it up.

I just purchased a set of the Corsa Sports. I didn’t want loud as hell. I just wanted louder than stock and something that said “hey, I have a built GT500”
Not “hey, I have a stock GT500 and like to polish my tips at car shows”

I can’t wait to see how the corsa sports are. Like I said I had the original ones, but not sure what they compare to.
I will be posting videos on my channel showing the Borlas vs the Oem mufflers this week.
Stay posted for the Corsa clips later.

Sorry to hear that. I wouldn't have minded similar results. Perhaps the larger piping makes that much difference. But I supposed 25 more cubic inches and a longer exhaust valve duration could also contribute to the mix. But then I'm old too.

I mean, I’m not young. Lol. I’m not too old either.
I just hope if relatively obnoxious, that I can deal with it since I don’t drive it much and when I do, it’s raced.
Fingers crossed because the Corsa cost a significant amount more.
