Hey guys, I am looking at getting a unit. What size should I get? 10x20? 12x20? 10x30? 12x25?

Thanks in advance

Really depends on what car for length. a 10' wide would be plenty for just parking however look at the door size. You might have an issue if its a 7' door if the cars really wide.

Depends on if it is pure storage (all you want to do is show up, get in and drive out) or you might do some work on the car while in there, so need room for full door opening and room to work under the hood. 10 X 20 should be fine for pure storage, I can even get my MARAUDER in there (which is almost 18 ft long) safely.

Do you anticipate security patrolled storage facilities to leap in demand given the popo situation?

You should lease the biggest size now before inventory disappears. Maybe secure a few leases and sublet.

If were me. I would get at least a 25ft long space. That will give you plenty of room in front and back to move around in. I have 28ft spaces and they are longer than I need but I am able to store things like tires and such in the front.

If you can do a 12 wide I would. I had mine in a 10 wide for a year, it was tight opening the doors and getting in. Even if you favored one side.

you have to check with the storage facility because sometimes times they only give you one option to choose from if you're storing a car. probably not the same everywhere but I ran into that once.

Yup and some limit the value you can store, etc.

I may be living in a fenced in storage unit before this over. No windows and 3 foot walls seems like a good idea right now.

thanks guys. having a little extra room might be a good idea. I have a couple sets of wheels that can go in there too.

I have a 10x20 and that's fine for a foxbody. If I pulled in, trying to get the passenger side as close to the wall as possible, there would be a good 4-5 foot on the driver's side.

12x25 here too.
You want to open the doors with no issues.
