Looks like I seized a rear caliper on my 03. All the part stores in my area are showing “out of stock”. Where’s the best place to get them?

After about 5 miles of driving the passenger side doesn’t release and the pads are dragging on the rotor. Noticed it yesterday when I drove to work. By the time I got there the brake was grinding away and the heat coming off the wheel was incredible. The rotor got so hot it looks like glass

Rockauto had 1 motorcraft listed.

Left side Damn

I’ve had my front freeze.

I had to force pistons in and out a few times and it freed up.

I put something just thinner than rotors in between to get pistons past normal movements

Guide pins are cleaned and relubed?
I use drill bit by hand to pull out old lube

These pins even stick in far south warm weather

Parking brake will cause this also.

If it works cold.
Brake on off it may be other than caliper

Caliper if stuck should stay stuck

Sounds like the perfect excuse for a big brake kit!
As mentioned, Rock Auto is perfect for a quick OEM replacement. Otherwise Full Tilt Boogie Racing has some nice upgrade kits. If the rotors is glazed, I'd consider replacing the pair while you're at it. Could be warped as well due to the extreme heat.

Rotors and pads I already have. Just need calipers. I always do everything on both sides

I rebuilt mine when I Powder coated them. Got the parts from RA. The e-brake snap ring behind the piston was the worst part to get apart for the rebuild. But it can be done. I modified some needle nose pliers.

Also, the calipers are the same for GT, V6, and Cobra. It is the bracket that mounts them that is the difference. Cobra are taller for the 12" rotors. So if your bracket is still good, you can buy GT calipers and use your old bracket.

lmr has a kit. Little on the pricey side IMO. Offer Red or Black.

Most websites I have gone to have these calipers “out of stock”. I ended up getting Power Stop rebuilds from rock auto. Keeping my fingers crossed on this one

CJ pony parts, FTB, autozone, pep boys and advance all listed them as either sold out or no longer available

Just checked online at my local napa. They have several different options. With or without brackets. Between 60-75 bones each. Just typed in 2003 mustang as vehicle. Might be worth checking out.
