Anyone running Stainless Works exhaust system?

I've been running a Stainless Works manifold back (stock headers) with a 2.5" Offroad X and S Tube Turbo mufflers (M08GTL) on my '08 Shelby GT500. While I originally like the sound that this custom system makes, I find that it just isn't loud enough for me. Especially hearing all the late model Mustangs which are much deeper, throatier and just plain louder than mine.

The original manifold back system cost me about $1500 and this was my second Stainless Works full/custom system. I ran a similar system on my '03 Cobra.

I have to say I'm very disappointed with Stainless Works. I called and explained my concerns with the General Manager (Chris). Only options to make my system louder is to spend another $1800 for full headers or pay $243/each ($486 for the pair) to go from a 2.5" S-Tube muffler to a 3" S-tube. I asked if I he could ship me out the 3" S-Tube mufflers and was told I would have to pay full price and there would be no returns if wasn't satisfied. I had a similar issue with my '03 system and they shipped me 2 different (louder) mufflers back then free of charge and shipping. Loyalty just does't pay anymore :(

So I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions or may possibly have a set of those 3" S-tube mufflers that I can try out?

Not sure any company would take back your used mufflers and trade out.

You want it loud, go LT's. I'm just the opposite, I want the right sound, but would rather be stealthy than folks hearing me come for 3 miles away.

Long tubes, off road X-pipe, and MBRP race series mufflers. They'll think a Nascar car is coming down the road, trust me. Most of my neighbors HATED my car with that set-up.

Do you have a clip on youtube that I could hear?

Also what did your setup cost (Long tubes, ORX and MBRP race mufflers) as I don't think I can use my SW ORX or other parts with that system right?

Here's my 11' on SW LT's and cat-less mid-pipe, 13/14 mufflers.

It's pretty nice cruising around, but down right rowdy when you put your foot into it.

I wouldn't suggest to anyone what to do, as I think exhaust note is personal preference, just like the color of the car itself. I will only say, you put LT's on it, with a corresponding mid-pipe, it's gonna be louder.

Things to consider are installing them, emssions/safely in Illinois, and of course what it's gonna cost you to get there.

I have SW long tubes with SW CATS on my 08 running Ultimate Touring mufflers by Corsa on the other end and it was way too loud and mid and full throttle.
So , in went 18" Resonators with positive results . Its still Nascar loud at WOT but tastefull at cruise.

If you want loud go LT

Sorry haven't updated my sig. I've moved to Florida so no emissions down here. I'm already running the full manifold back SW system with OR-X and Turbo S-Tube mufflers. This is the loudest manifold back for my '08 but they said I could get their Headers but would have to change out the lead pipes and mid pipe... Trying to determine if this is even worth the bother and extra $$

I do not, and I since went to the "quieter" street series mufflers from MBRP.

It's just money, right? :)

To me it's interesting just how loud these cars are with LT's. I've got a really nice Bassani set on my 93', with the Bassani catback and it's no where near as loud. I've had all sorts of Fox exhaust setups, and this SW set on the 11' is by far the loudest car I've ever had at WOT.

I agree. My exhaust is loud at WOT but I don't want to have to mash the pedal down just to extract that loudness. I'd rather have a car that rattles the ground at idle and low RPMs. It's not my daily driver. It's more of a showcar and weekend warrior :)

You want loud exhaust, go LT header and NO cat. H pipe and Corsa extreme muffler. It will wake up the "DEAD". I have ARH 1-7/8 LT header, NO cat with H pipe and Corsa sport mufflers and WOT is like a bomb goes off. It piss lots of people especially the old guys. I had it one time purposely WOT right next to a convertible Benz and those guys were so mad.
