Does anyone have experience with the 2.8L LC Mammoth Kenne bell? After a few solid pulls yesterday when I got home I let it idle and popped the hood. I noticed some steam coming out of the vented bolt that holds the pulley on the snout. Everyone I've called has not heard of the vented bolt design. Anyway when I shut the car off I heard air hissing a little like an air compressor (not as loud) and saw fluid coming out of the vented bolt. I was reading online that bolt is designed to release pressure if it builds up too quickly in the supercharger and if the oil level is too high for higher boosted cars that that can happen? Has this happened to anyone else??? PFA

Vented bolt is normal. My 2.8h and my buddies LC 2.8 also have this. Never seen steam come from it though. After hard pulls I have seen a little oil here but that’s it.

Honestly until now I never noticed the pulley bolt on my 2.1 had a hole. I guess that means it's vented?

I was trying to chase down a fuel leak years ago and would do a hard pull to 80 or so, slam on the brakes, jump out and pop the hood trying to find it. I swore one time I saw something come out of the snout. At the time I thought it was belt dust, maybe it was some pressure escaping?

Call KB and talk to the only guy left that knows anything (mike) and report back.

I guess it wasn't steam. Looked like it but it was on a cold day. But that makes sense. I wasn't sure. I was kinda freaking out lol

I believe So. I researched a ton and found out it was a design kenne bell came up with. Pretty smart. But wanted to get others input if possible to calm my nerves lol. I called and emailed Kenne Bell but no response as of yet. I heard their customer service lacks big time.

This is good info. I had never heard of a vented pulley bolt. I agree that it was pretty ingenious design by Kenne Bell.

Yes their customer service has nose dived hard in recent years. They used to have 2-3 guys thier that would answer phones and knew their shit. Now the last man standing seems to be Mike.

Don't get me wrong there are other people that know things but Mike has been their forever and has history that the others lack.

I thought so. It helps from blowing out the seal behind the pulley I believe. Either way. Figured I'd ask/share the info. I'm learning something new pretty much everyday with this car since I've had it for the last month.

That is why I have been reading. I'm reading a lot that guys are going with whipple for that fact that their customer service is top notch and it performs well, but the deciding factor is customer service.
