unfortunately the laws now seem to favor career criminals rather than law abiding citizens. I carry every day to protect myself and my family but I would have to second guess intervening for a stranger, and that’s sad
Dallas is fairly conservative, especially when compared to atx, sa, htown. I hope the grand jury no bills him/does not indict.

Many defensive shootings go to a grand jury, its often a formality. This isn’t a jury trial, they only decide to indict or not. If they indict it goes to a jury trial, they decide guilt or innocence.

I am intimately familiar with grand jury procedures. Had my own local and federal many moons ago. And it’s gonna cost this man some cash.
The irony is, if he had a badge he’d be on leave getting paid handsomely telling IA how it was him or them and he had no other choice… then he’d get a medal and be back on the job in no time.

Officials: Family Dollar customer who shot suspected robber charged
The customer told police he saw a man fighting with store employees and shot him because he was concerned for their safety.
Police say surveillance video shows the man running toward the door before Jackson fired the gun. Court documents went on to say the women were not near the man when Jackson shot and killed him.
