Mine was a small dealer in IL...Listed at $22.5k, I told them I would buy it for $20k the day after I went and looked at it.
I guess I’ve just got to keep my eyes peeled then lol
I gather a lot of the deals you're seeing are because they were high mileage cars or not as desirable color combinations
im saying that I don’t see deals. I’ve been looking around on eBay and stuff and there’s a 03 with 95k miles for 25k obo asking and another one from a dealer for 27k with 45k. It looks like people in here are finding cars with around 50k miles for 20k.

It seems right now is a bad time to buy anything. It seems everything is ridiculously expensive.

As a couple examples:

I heard the price of eggs is ridiculous. So, much so people here were driving to Mexico to buy eggs. WTF? Really???

Also, I rebuilt my 65 Mustang from 2020 to 2022. In 2020 I would go to O'Reilly's and buy the rattle can Duplicolor Filler Primer. I believe the price in 2020 was $6.99 a can. I went to O'Relliy's last week to buy the same filler primer in order to paint the heads for my 57 T-Bird. That same can now costs $12.99 at O'Reilly's and is listed on Amazon for around $17.00 a can. Jesus Christ talk about mark up.

It depends on what you are looking for, but I would be more inclined to buy a higher mileage car with 1 or 2 owners over a 50k mile car with 9 owners. Even if they are around the same price.

These cars are only going to climb in price. The lower mileage cars will obviously command a lot more money, but they may not always be the better car.

The last cobra I purchased I prioritized it being as untouched as possible. (it did have a KB and a boost a pump) but everything else was basically stock. It is SOOOOO nice being able to work on the car and not have to worry about stripped nuts/bolts and other previous owner back yard mechanic hack jobs.

Bought mine back in 2010. Paid 19,500 car had 20k miles. I feel like it's the only car that we own where we got a decent deal.

Bought my 2004 black/black for 29k cash money in July 2015. Car had right around 6900 miles, bassani offroad x pipe, bassani 3" stainless catback, MM coil overs front and rear, MGW short throw and some CCW LM20 wheels.

Entire car was like brand new. 10/10 minty fresh

My best purchase ever. At only 24 years old. She now has a 2.2KB making 619hp to the wheels. Don't foresee ever selling.

I traded my 2004 Yamaha R6 motorcycle straight up for my 1999 Cobra. We wrote $5 on bill of sales and made a handshake deal. I've since found 04 parchment seats, 04 wheels and working on a complete engine and t56 magnum swap to complete it! There's still deals out there.

I know this is supposed to be about 03/04's, but last year I got a 1997 Cobra Vert advertised for $10k with a salvage title for $9500. The car had MC interior seats and a few other parts, lowered, wheels/tires, but the main thing I wanted was the engine/trans setup. It has a 4V with a Vortec V1 and Aftercooler, built T56, and some supporting mods. I'm having my 1992 coupe built with T Tops, show paint, etc and since I already have a built IRS for it I figured this would be perfect. Dyno'd at 450 to the wheels.

I sent to the builder who took what we need out of it, sold my engine trans out of my coupe for $3500, sold the roller cobra for $3500 so the other $2500 is what I paid for the engine/trans/supercharger setup to put in my car.

Paid $26.5k in Feb 07’, all original and had 10,749 miles on her. Shipped from AZ to CT where I bought her.

Same owner had a SB coupe with 6K miles, I made a deal for 26K but he sold it on my way to get it, that’s how I ended up with the vert instead. I upgraded from an 02’ GT vert so I don’t mind verts.

The last one I bought was in 2019, paid $28,500 for my 7400 mile 100% stock down to tires TR 10th vert. At the time, I was thinking it was a $32-34k car. In early 2021, I was hard offered $45k and $48k by two different people, turned down both. That was probably the height of the market. I’m not selling either way.

My other current cobra was bought in 2016 for $25k, light mods at the time and 30k miles. I’m not selling this one either, and have spent easily 3 times that on it since.

I had a couple others, but honestly don’t recall what I bought/sold for. In 2004, I did get my first DSG off a dealer misprint for $24k when it was supposed to be $34k. I considered that a once in a lifetime deal.

He recently logged back in to checkout the carnage with the $59k SB Cobra lol. I have him on FB, he was super helpful when i had the car. Sad the car ended up getting dismantled and parted out by a big shop in Detroit. Made me really regret selling it. The guy i sold it to turned around and sold it to a shop and she was gone :(
