In the last several years I've usually had 4 or 5 people during a year randomly stop me (parking lot, on the street, etc.), ask if that's a terminator, and then proceed to make me a cash offer.
I've had a few random offers at car meets. I've thought about a couple for a second, but then decided I don't want to start over. And good luck finding another Mystichrome that doesn't require a body part as part of the sale anymore.

Paid ~20K back in 2007ish with 10k miles on it. 04, silver, convertible.

Now have around 275k miles

A few weeks ago some rando approached me and offered me $40k for it.

Last week in a parkade another rando approached me and offered me $45k for it. Told him the mileage and he offered me $35k.

In the last several years I've usually had 4 or 5 people during a year randomly stop me (parking lot, on the street, etc.), ask if that's a terminator, and then proceed to make me a cash offer.

Car's been good to me so I have no desire to sell it; plus anything I'd replace it with would be over $100k anyways.
Can you do me a favor and drive my white one around? I’m jealous of the offers you get man. I thought me asking $35k for a coupe with 19k miles was decent in hindsight. I just get flooded with low offers haha. 275k miles is amazing man, maintenance is on point!

That's the thing about it. You may get a hefty offer at the gas station from some random, but when you inevitably regret selling it, you'll struggle to get into another one that's just like the one you let go of. I finally have all the "go-to" goodies from the glory days (2.2KB, ambers, original airfoils, chrome AFS...etc) so to start over now would be expensive and a real pain in my ass. lol

This is true. I've been through 4 Mystichrome and, thankfully, each one was better than the last but I know that if I sell this one, and I've gotten a couple of offers on Instagram, I'll never find another like it again. I could find a stock one with low miles but people want $70K for those now

I paid 27 for my first one at the end of '21 (it was a really bad buy too), and then I paid 25 (better buy, but not great) for the one I currently have that I got in April '22. First was ~70k miles and current one was ~53k I believe when I got it.

No way would I sell this thing at this point, not for any reasonable cost that comes to mind. Too much blood and money into this one to replace it.

A few months after he sold it, the prior owner reached out to me to buy it back and he offered me more than what I paid for it. There was many sleepless nights as I contemplated his offer but I just could not sell it. Another person offered me a crazy amount and I was really thinking about it but I know I couldn't find another like this with the miles and mods. Also, as many times as I keep getting rid of the Terminators, it's just something about them. I had a '14 GT500 and I loved that car too, and it was way better than the Terminator, but it's just something about these Terminators. I can't explain it but everyone here knows what I'm talking about.

Don’t Monday QB what pricing you could have bought something for similarly don’t do the same selling. You’ll go mad. Trust me, I have more regrets and may I should have held out and ask more than buys but if you felt good within the timeframe keep with that mindset. Someone is always gonna get top dollars no matter what & someone is always gonna score a better deal.
I totally agree with you but seeing this 42K mile SB coupe with a Kenne Bell and the asking price is what I paid for my car is very painful. This car is exactly what I would've liked to get.

believe it or not I'm still using the original clutch/flywheel (and i'm ported/pullied/intake/exhaust/tune)

that said, my rear quarter panels and doors rusted out on me last year, but I replaced them with carbon fiber panels so now it's impossible for them to rust again, haha.

I know what you mean. I also have a '14 GT500 with basic mods (pulley, intake, throttle body, exhaust, tune).

The GT500 is faster, handles better, brakes better and has more creature comforts.

And while my 04 feel more like a trashcan with wheels in comparison, I smile every time I drive it and actually have a preference for it. It's just more raw and analogue and makes you feel more connected to the car.

See you’re agreeing with me but doing exactly opposite and looking at something. It’ll eat you up. ;) It’s like comparing different brands of apples. Similar but not quite measurable.

I paid 18,500 for mine back in 2011 with 48k on in. I sold it in 2015 for the same price, was getting offers for 15k when I had it listed and held out for asking price. In the past couple of years I have missed an opportunity on a mystichrome for 22k, had around 50k miles. I also missed out on a black/black original owner that had a little over 100k on it, he was asking 16k if I recall. The one that really gets me is when I missed on the Teal Terminator when it was for sale. I kept telling my wife now is the time to get them but kept getting the runaround with her. Now the cars are two to three times what they were not even two years ago and I’m kicking myself for not just getting them when I had the chance.

Absolutely understand this. My boss has a modded 2020 gt500 that I've put a few hundred miles on. Better car in every way imaginable. But the cobra feels more raw. Just tries to kill you every time you step on the throttle.

100% I sold my 03 sonic when I purchased my 2020. I purchased another 03 sonic last December. They are such different feels.

This statement stands the test time here. I DD my 2.7 150 and I swear it might be quicker. Take the 03 to work, and yikes. it'll get loose, and it's loud. Lol

Curious to hear what buyers actually paid versus what the sellers asking price was over the last couple of years?

There seems to be no shortage of mid-high mileage average condition Cobras for sale between $30-40k. I have a hard time believing these cars are truly selling for some of the outrageous asking prices.

Disclaimer: not devaluing these cars at all. Just curious what the gap is between asking/selling price.
Paid $13,800 in September 2019. Car had almost 89K on it. Just turned 91K. I’m the third owner. CAI, pulley and tune. Stock exhaust . Car needs maintenance. Has the IRS clunk, rear window separating from the top, and there’s a small oil leak I haven’t looked into yet. If I’m going to be completely honest I would say the car in it’s entirety is a 7.5/10 as it sits. Was going to trade up to a 11 to 14 GT 500 vert but LSWUT kind of talked me out of it. I’m glad. An upcoming real estate deal might put me in a position where it will benefit me to sell it but if that doesn’t go through I’m keeping it and will chip away at the things that it needs and make it a nicer, better driver. If I decide to sell it,it will come up here with full disclosure on all of its quirks for no less than 22K. That’s what it’s worth to me.I agree with other posters who are saying these cars are going to go up in value. And, with every passing year knuckleheads are wrapping them around poles and rolling them over into ditches. It’s money in the bank as far as I’m concerned.
