like... "tune in Toyoko"?

I asked him today, as he was rambling about it again. I just cut him off and blurted out, "Yeah, but can they tune in Tokyo?".
He said he's actually gone as far as Australia, and New Zealand among a bunch of other locations.
I dont think he got the reference.

Right now I'm working at a guy's house replacing some trim.
That dude has wires and antennas all over the place outside. He builds his own antennas. I'll try to get some pics. I'm not even sure how he mows the lawn. There's random wires everywhere.
I guess with Ham you just send out a signal and wait for someone to respond? He said the furthest he has reached is Japan!

Very cool. Good for him.

My Dad was a Ham Radio operator. "Ham" radio is short for "Amateur" radio. He had a telephone pole installed behind our house with an antenna on top. My Dad was very proficient in Morse Code. Dot, dash, dot, dot...
I remember him communicating with other Ham Operators worldwide. He helped relay communications during an earthquake, I think in Alaska. He kept stacks of ARRL (American Radio Relay League) magazines.

It's a critical method of communicating when shit hits the fan. I know one guy who has his this skill, equipment, and a Ham license.

You should seriously consider getting your license, it's not that difficult, and entry level equipment.

Not trying to brag or anything.. I’ve seen one Rolex’s in here, and even an R8…… buuuut.. I picked me up a bad ass walker. The way I see it I can pick up ladies and pack them some frozen yogurt in my little pouch. Started walking yesterday and today for the first time since surgery.

Bought me a new trail bike to have some FUN on and do a bit of woods riding with my buddies. The CR500 is/was going to kill me sooner or later and was rapidly increasing my gray hair count every time I threw my leg over it. Just too much bike for a 61-year old fat guy to be riding through the woods. I'm not getting rid of the 500 though, that's a forever bike and will go to one of my grandsons.

Had to buy a new replacement battery for my Dragy.
I've never even used it yet. Charged it 2 or 3 times in the last year or 2. Went to change it last week and it just kept charging for days. Finally took a look at it and the battery actually popped the case of the Dragy open.

For anyone that needs to do this, it's very straightforward and requires just basic soldering skills
