I always go to this thought experiment: Would you still want an ev vehicle if there was no more free charging at the places you visited??? Would you want an ICE if there was free gas at the places you visited???
All the EV owners at my work are getting upset, charging won't be free any more (it'll be a couple bucks for a few hours) and go up very quickly if you don't move your fire-hazard within 10 minutes of getting an app notification. It is getting ridiculous, people sprinting out of important meetings with no notice because they have to move to or from a charger.

Toyota raises its outlook as strong hybrid demand juices profits

Toyota raises its outlook as strong hybrid demand juices profits

  • Toyota’s profit more than doubled, driven in part by strong demand for hybrids.
  • The Japanese auto giant is primed to benefit from a slowdown in EV demand in the U.S.
  • Toyota also raised its outlook for its full fiscal year.

'Yota is poised to dominate the global auto sector. Laughing the ass' off at everyone else!

I'm okay with hybrids as long as we still get good strong performing motors. It allows some versatility, improved mileage, and van vastly improve performance. If EVs hadn't been pushed so hard the manufacturers could all be sitting nicely developing more hybrids until either battery technology gets to where it actually makes sense and is viable or synthetic fuels come to market. But given that EVs are just trading pollution from emitting at the tailpipe to the mines and factories it was never going to be a good longterm option. Hopefully it will fail quickly and the manufacturers will start focusing on practical options like hybrids and put money into syth fuel development.

The gay Raptor shit really turned me off from another Ford. Every manufacturer seems to want to dabble with this but whatever, no Ford for me. So I started looking elsewhere. I watched the live reveal of the '24 Tacoma and liked what I saw in the TRD Pro. So I drove an hour to visit a dealer that allegedly deals at MSRP and put $500 down the next day in order to hopefully be first in line. I am. Only weird thing for me is their allocation system in comparison to what I'm used to, Ford's. So whenever I can actually put an order in (first quarter 2024) I'll choose a few different colors. I already told them anything but pink or yellow with a preference to white, green, or black. I'm going to give their ICE/Electric motor 4 banger a shot as the power looks to be impressive. Crossing my fingers that there isn't any ****ery come delivery time...

Looks like some harnessing seat that would be on a Rollercoaster or rocketship, wtf is going on there

I briefly (2 months) owned a 2022 Tundra and absolutely hated it. The interior felt like a preschool play box, and they layout was stupid. I traded it for my 2022 Ram Rebel and it is sooooooooooo much better.

I thought the interiors were pretty nice for the most, but parts of it did have that tupperware vibe to it.. my buddy had a loaded 21/22 Tundra.. He didn’t keep it long either. Ended up trading it on a new F250 powerstroke FX4.
