556 overall has better terminal ballistics and so many more off the shelf options here in the US. 545 is a good cartridge though, but good luck once all the russian sourced stuff dries up here thanks to the biden regime ban on russian ammo. At least there are some good domestically sourced. 7.62x39 options nowadays.
Yeah.

Still got 7.62x39 coming in brass from a few overseas suppliers at 60cpr.

Also got PSA making it, but it's more expensive then the cheapest 5.56 options.

PSA should be dropping 5.45 soon, but expect 50-60cpr as well.

When the war in UA ends and they go 5.56, I'm sure we'll see another massive dump, but that's 10 years away.

Sadly during the days of 7N6 I was Broke as **** and could never stack up. Down to my last 200rds and another 800rds of Tula/Wolf.

My SLG31 is my favorite rifle.

7.62x39 was always fun to blast. You get that .308 "stopping powa feel" for a fraction of the price.

I really want a PTR 32, chambered in 7.62x39, its roller delayed and should be a blast to shoot that cartridge in. PTR also has other models chambered in 308, 556 etc…

They are "dirt cheap" on GB right now. No idea why!

I want to build one of those Cetme kits and load on up what is still cheap mags... But with 308 being stupid expensive I doubt I'll ever shoot it which means I shouldn't be wasting my money on it. Sighhh, why can't I just win a billion $ lottery already.

Was actually watching Garand Thumb's video on the military's new .277 Fury round and it looked pretty good. Obviously gonna be a while to see if there is mass adoption and for it to saturate the market but it looks promising.

What a moron. Take the slack out of the strap first.

That looked like a bubba rope or comparable.

It’s an elastic tow rope and you really do just hammer down. I’ve pulled out many trucks buried in sand to the frame without issue.

Now, I haven’t tried one stuck in muck like that before.

Civilian market? Naw

Bi-metal casing is going to ensure it will never be blasting cheap. So you got basically a Guci Piston AR / AR180 that shoots Guci 308/6.5

Definitely looks pretty promising, you can buy commercially available stuff now, but I think its reduced power. Plus I think its only chambered in bolt action for the commercial market at this time.

Yup, it's the "training ammo".

I doubt they'll ever make the mil-spec stuff available as Sig will sell a "pistol" version and it will be "armor piercing pistol ammo".
