I go to a Great Clips place nearby and when I first went there two years ago it was $16. It later was raised to $18 and when I went last week it was up to $21.
I live in the path of 100% coverage and am kind of looking forward to it. Supposed to happen between 3:00 and 3:30. I've got some glasses and plan to make a video. Anyone else live in the path or near? Hope the weather is clear.
I've been to the Cayman Islands and Barbados. Cayman to me is one of those places you go to to get away from it all for a few days. A good chill place. Barbados had some interesting spots and I don't regret going there. But what are your favorite spots there and would you contemplate moving there?
Decided to apply for a new credit card with Barclays since I am already a cardholder with them. I have their Hawaiian Air card and used the miles for free and discounted flights to Hawaii when I lived in Vegas. Good airline and never had a problem booking award travel.
Fast forward: I don't...
I mostly watch sports and news and older movies so I don't think it will bother me much. But I wonder what the trickle down effects will be. The crew people who work on sets for tv and film in particular. And will it be problematic on subscriptions to cable and entities like Netflix and Hulu and...
I don't know how many fight fans we have here but I thought I'd start a thread and find out.
I enjoy watching MMA, boxing, kickboxing, muay thai, college wrestling.
Should be a good UFC fight tonight with Henry Cejudo against Sterling. Henry is phenomenal but hasn't fought in three years...
Just finished my taxes. 19k for the Feds and $1200 for NY. Maybe I should renounce my U.S. citizenship.
The thing that pisses me off the most is dividend taxes. In my brokerage account I always reinvest dividends in additional shares. Why should I pay taxes on money I'm not taking? The initial...
I'm going to my parents' place tomorrow for dinner. However, we aren't having the traditional Thanksgiving fare until next Tuesday since that was the only day we could get everyone together(family/friends). Hopefully, you don't have to fly but if you do I hope it goes well.
I prolly would. It would be a hell of a notch on the proverbial bedpost. But if she starts singing "Like A Virgin" while I'm hittin' that booty I'm gonna friggin' lose it.
I know we have some veterans here and was curious if any of you use it and how it's worked out for you. I applied yesterday and if accepted it looks as if I'll be in priority group 6 since I'm considered a Gulf War veteran. As far as I can tell there are no monthly premiums and the coverage...
My favorite flick of his was Thief. RIP, James.

I know we have some regular and serious lifters and gym rats here so I'll ask if any of you know anything about this place. Apparently it's a large chain so I looked into it since there is one close to me and is open 24/7. I went in this morning to see if I could walk around for 30 seconds and...
1. Road construction is a mess. Give yourself time if travelling.
2. Las Vegas drivers really are worse than all else.
3. Utah has great signs encouraging people to drive safely. Vegas has none.
4. Northern Utah and western Wyoming are absolutely beautiful.
5. Driving east from central Wyoming...
Well, I did something today. I called it a day with the Clark County School District in Las Vegas. Turned in my badge, signed my paperwork, worked it all out with my pension plan, and am officially retired from teaching. Who knows what the future holds....
Mine finally crapped out after 16 years--which I heard is actually a good run.
Anyway, the one I have is corded but most for sale are non-corded. Can you replace a corded with a non-corded?
Also, is it a pain in the butt to replace by myself or pretty straight forward?
...and I got one offer for cash 14k above asking before noon and took it immediately. Buyer bought it sight unseen. My agent asked if I wanted to wait and see if we could get something higher but I said no and he agreed with me. We had actually listed the place a tad more than area comps had...
What's it like to live there? Thinking of relocating up there perhaps. I don't care about the cold or snow as I grew up on Lake Ontario. Are there abundant employment opportunities like I see in many other places?
Next May I'm retiring from public education after 30 years in the classroom. I've enjoyed my career immensely but these days I am the polar opposite of what public education wants and stands for. I'm not ready to be "retired" in the traditional sense and still want to have earned income even...
