Honestly the biggest hurdle is the waterneck on the 2011-14 hits against the 2018 IM. The waterneck really needs to be modified or replaced with a 2015-17 waterneck in order for the installation to go "smooth" and from my experience the 15-17 neck doesn't come with the overflow nipple installed...
remove the pulley, see if you have a spacer installed on it for starters. If you've had the kit installed for some time it is odd that it would just now start rubbing.
if its rubbing you likely don't have it installed, I originally had the issue as well(used head unit with the pulley removed) looked around and it showed up with one of the other pulleys that came with it. Your seller likely just forgot to include it or something.
as stated you are missing the spacer ring, call procharger, I'm sure they'll sell you one for a few bucks. They look similar to this Pulley Spacers for ProCharger Superchargers
Yeah I was talking to Jn2ning who sells a similar kit using the gt350 pumps, I think the main difference is that it doesn't use the 2nd fuel control module. Still contemplating which route to go at this point. Likely won't buy until sept/oct so it'll be in by nov which is when we finally start...
do you think you are in the 725-750rwhp range on E85?
If you could've done it all over again would you have spent the extra 500-800 on a better fuel system?
What option hose did you go with and do you get alot of bleed through fuel smell? Once I go to a full fuel system one thing I'm concerned...
Yes running a VMP plug & play BAP, and yes I've been fighting this for some time now and have done a ton of research. I definitely would've done things differently if I had known I'd run into so many issues, hindsight 20/20 lol
I feel your pain, I'm in FL, I have no plans to go to the track anytime soon lol, kinda pointless running in 90+* heat just to run 123mph or something garbage.
I know there aren't alot of self tuners in the mustang world but I'm curious if anyone has monitored their IDC/IPW pre & post fuel system upgrade to see if you had a noticable difference. Reason I ask is that I threw in one of the DW 400 fuel pump kits in my 14 and there was simply 0 different...
Its the reason I bought hptuners some 14 years ago, before I worked at hptuners I bought and used their product tuning my own car after being dissatisfied with my experience with a dyno shop. Its not for everyone but I've always like working on my own cars so for me it made sense rather than...
Whats funny is they could just send you the same tune in your car and just rename it and you wouldn't be the wiser. The 2018 intake really doesn't need a tune IMO to run perfectly well. Good luck getting a refund but you might just be better off moving on.
thanks, yeah I eventually got it, just took some coaxing while on ramps to move the bottom pipe up a bit further with all the piping loosened up, just a pita.
heres the thing, if you're car already has a tune in it you likely won't need a tune for the 18, while it won't be optimized so to speak I personally don't think its necessary. Same with going to a boss on a 11-14. But if you are dead set on getting a new tune it sounds like you need to find a...
Thanks, this definitely helped. I was able to get it started, but got to throw it on ramps tomorrow to get the bottom clamps tightened up , hard to tell if its got enough lip on the bottom but I guess we'll find out shortly.
anybody else have fitment issues when swapping the stock intake to boss? the intake elbow isn't even close to reaching the first metal piping. I did both the initial blower install myself as well as going to the 2018 intake myself and now the boss intake and the boss isn't even close to...
I'm replacing the water neck on my 14 coyote mustang to the 2015-17 water neck which allows use of the 2018 intake manifold without grinding. The overflow nipple on top do you just pull it out & reinstall? Any particular sealant necessary? Its not a threaded connection so thats the only way I...
cool deal, yeah the street sweeper sound with the bullet style Bypass valve is pretty normal, I've got a turbosmart valve and its loud as hell between 2-4k rpms at PT.
