    1997 Cobra project

Been a while since i worked or even looked at the cobra, kinda lost motivation with it:sorry But after going to the American Muscle 2018 show i found the urge to finish what I started. Last weekend I pulled the trans back out to install the 3 dowel pins that I didn't know/forgot I needed to...

    1997 Cobra project

It's been a while since my last update, haven't done much with the cobra as i've been swamped with work. However i was able to track down that EGR bung i was searching for! I took a trip to my local ford dealership and went to the parts department, they gave me a diagram of the exhaust system...

    1997 Cobra project

Got the Pypes pipe-bomb catback delivered earlier this week. The box it was shipped in was absolutely mangled, but surprisingly nothing was damaged or missing! so i tackled that yesterday. I couldn't manage to get the Flowmaster catback off without cutting it unfortunately as the connections...

    1997 Cobra project

had a free weekend and decided to work on the car, as usual it fought me along the way. :swordfight: I started with finishing up the exhaust, installed the new o2 sensor, took the old o2 sensors out of the old BBK X, and hooked up the MIL eliminators, topped off brake, power steering and coolant...

    1997 Cobra project

LOL everyone asks me the same question My 200,000 mile pile 1999 GT has too much sentimental value for me to ever get rid of it. it was the first car I bought out of high school, the first car I really learned how to work on, first car I learned how to drive stick shift in and the people i've...

I probably could have done it without lowering the rack but it's only two bolts and it made it easier. What is different about the 03/04 control arms?

    1997 Cobra project

Got around to installing the resurfaced flywheel, clutch and pressure plate. super easy to do and yes i torqued everything to spec. Ended up going with a Ford Racing clutch kit, i didn't see the need to "over clutch" the car for the horsepower it's currently making. Anyways its a really nice...

    1997 Cobra project

got around to installing new studs and the "new" headers. for those wondering what header/manifold studs I used, I attached a picture below. They are Dorman brand part number 03411, they worked really well. installing the studs were super easy, applied some loc-tite to the threads that go into...

    1997 Cobra project

After searching around on the internet, it seems to me that at least the clutch disk was a RAM powergrip HD clutch which is a stage 3 clutch so that explains why it was so ridiculously stiff. I don't understand why they put such a race driven clutch in a bolt on cobra, oh well. still confused as...

Im not sure if it still have them or not, next time i drive it ill have to see if i feel a power difference around 3,500rpm. unless there is an easier way to tell without taking the intake manifold off lol I said seemingly because that was before i had a chance to get it up on a lift and...

    1997 Cobra project

Went with Centric front rotors and pads. For the rear i had a set of Powerstop drilled and slotted rotors and pads from when i was going to do a rear cobra brake swap on my 1999 GT but decided not to so i used them.
