I have a 1997 Cobra that has idle woes. It either hangs at 2000 rpm until settling to 850, or it dips down to 600 rpm and dies. My tuner is going to relook at it soon to see what can be done. Why does the idle suck?

Can the factory tach be calibrated? My tach reads 1100 RPM at idle when it is truly 800 RPM. The upper limits of RPM is even worse.
