OK so I am on my way to work yesterday and I see those lovely flashing lights in my mirror. So I pull over. The state cop says." Good morning, you feel like going to jail?" Obviously I say" Uh......no. The guys says he was chasing me for miles doing 100 miles an hour to catch me. Which was...
Well A couple days ago the truck started to do the typical misfire under load. So I took it to Ford so they could tell me which cylinder it was. It was the #6 coil pack. So I get it home and replace the coil and everything is fine.......for a while. For the first couple of miles everything is...
Well I was driving to the gym last night and I smell burning electrical smoke. I check my volts gauge and sure enough it was way down and my battery light comes on. Well the first thing I did was turn off everything (well ok the first thing I did was yell SHIT!!!!) then I turned everything...
I am currently installing a volts gauge to go along with my boost. Where is the easiest-best place to get power for the gauge itself(not talking about power for the lights) battery terminal?
Well as I was trying to finish the install on my last GMS COP, the bolt on the #8 colt pack is stripped before I even started working on it. I tried vice grips with no luck. It is going to take alot of torque to get it off. Does anybody know of any tool that can be used to remove such a small...
I am currently installing(or trying to) the Granatelli COPS and cannot figure out how to make them snap into place on the plugs. I tried snapping one on a spark outside of the truck and got that to work but when i tried putting them together in the spark plug hole I can't get it to make the snap...
I am just about to install my GMS coil packs. My question is do I need to change the gap on my spark plugs since the new coils deliver more spark? I have my tr6's gapped at .036. Do I give them more gap?
I am looking to get a pair of 17x12 wheels to put some Hoosiers on. Does anybody have a pair or know where I can get a pair. They are hard to find for a decent price. Thanks
OK well this isn't about my truck. However I was working on my friends Durango today. We had to replace the water pump. Well after several hours and many four letter words we got it back together. We were filling the radiator when we notice a little pin hole in the radiator that was spraying...
Well I am having the usual problem of the truck idleing fine but running like crap at WOT. I am assuming it to be a bad coil pack. I replaced the fuel filter and plugs recently. The weird thing is sometimes it runs horrible and sometimes it runs fine. I just got back from Ford with a new...
I am looking to buy the Granntelli/Motoblue coil connecters from RPM outlet. These are the coils that snap on instead of just slide on like our stock ones do. The new connectors look like they are stiff, not bendable like the stockers. My question is, how hard would it be to install these if you...
Well a couple of days ago I torqued down my spark plugs just to make myself feel better. No problems there. I let the truck run after I was done, all the cylinders were firing and I thought everything was cool. Today on my way home, I punched it to get around a mini van on the highway. The...
Well I guess we are not the only ones who shoot plugs. My cousin has an 01 500 hp WS6 Firebird and he called me yesterday and said he heard a loud bang and then a loud ticking from his motor. I said to myself "hmmm sounds familiar". I told him to check all of his plugs and sure enough, cylinder...
Hey guys, I have a wierd noise coming from my engine bay. sounds like it is coming from the blower but I am not sure. it is kind of a rumbling rattling sound. Its not really that loud but it is still there. It is hard to describe but it doesn't really sound good. It only does it when I am in...
Well I went to the track about a month ago a ran a 13.7 all day. Since then, I installed the 6lb lower and the Pred tune and took it to the Dyno to make sure it was safe. I gained 60 RWHP from that. So today I took it to the track and could not break out of 13.4. I had no traction issues with my...
Well I just got the dual pillar pod for my truck, and I am going to run a boost gauge and a volts gauge. Just wondering where I make the connections at. I searched the old threads but didn't find much. Thanks guys
Well as I posted a little while ago I went with the 6 lb lower. I took it to the dyno today to have a custom tune. It made 380 hp and 509 tq. I couldn't believe it when I saw that # on the dyno computer! I knew my torque would be alot higher but I wasn't expecting that much for what mods I have...
Well I finally finished the install, got all the plugs to fire, and installed the Pred tune. Took the truck for a spin and it runs awesome. until I hit higher levels of boost then the truck falls on its face and kinda makes a vibration noise. I am guessing this is because I don't have my 90 mm...
after changing the stock plugs, I have a cylinder that is not firing. I think that it is most likely a coil pack that was not installed properly. Is there anyway to determine which cylinder in not firing with the Predator? or is my only option to take each coil out and check it?
Hey guys, I am right in the middle of installing my 6lb lower. My problem is cracking the stock pulley off. When I set the 15mm wrench onto one of the torque converter bolts and start to turn the pulley, all it does is loosen the torque converter bolts and then the wrench falls off. WTF? any...
Well yesterday I finally ordered the 6lb kit from RPM. I have been reading about plugs flying out. I obviously got the tr6's, and was just wondering what you guys think I should torque them down to. Not too tight, not too lose...... right?
