my brother in law recently bought a 2001 crown vic ex cop car that he bought from the police station that he works in. he took it to get it inspected and didnt pass. 2 codes came up and they were:

p0308 cylinder 8 misfire

p0306 cylinder 6 misfire.

what could it be ? the wires ? or the spark splugs? is this hard to fix ? he doesnt know how to work cars, so im gonna do this for him.

any help ?

Def not wires. Could be the coils are bad though.

Do a basic tuneup with new plugs and clear the codes out. If they come back then swap around the coils to see if the SES follows the suspected coils.

i would almost guarantee its the coils, i changed 6 of 8 coils on my parents 4.6L, i would have bought a whole set of accell or msd coils had i known that many would go on it, but they quit 2-4 months apart, engine had 130,000km on it

COP's on modular motors are known to go bad. Doesn't matter what year or which engine. They are simple to replace.

Those codes mean either bad plugs or COP
