03 Cobra Inner Half Shaft Swap???????

Question, I installed a 03 Cobra IRS into my LS6 Powered Miata. I am wanting to know if I can take apart my FF5 Rear cv axels ( 28mm ) and install 31 spline cobra inner half shafts ?

Why not just install complete 03 cobra halfshafts? Or am I missing something
