Old motor had no compression on the driver side but still ran. I had Griggs diagnose it and replace it.

Question; why do some cobras have blue valve covers and some are grey. Do the blue ones come on reman engines or?

I've got a 2008 ZX10R that I'm considering selling. Lots of nice mods. Only 3800 miles. First owner. I can shoot some pics if you are interested. Color is electric blue

Blue valve covers never came factory on 03-04 Cobra engines. They did come factory on Ford GT's, and Shelby GT500's w/ the SVTPP 2010+, and come standard on 2013+ GT500's.

It is a very common thing for 03-04 Cobra owners to have their valve covers powder coated this color.

However, if you buy an aluminator motor from Ford (in this case this is what the OP has), then they come with the Ford Racing Blue Valve Covers.

Blue valve covers never came factory on 03-04 Cobra engines. They did come factory on Ford GT's, and Shelby GT500's w/ the SVTPP 2010+, and come standard on 2013+ GT500's.

It is a very common thing for 03-04 Cobra owners to have their valve covers powder coated this color.

Lol never beat on or neglected. Of a matter of fact, it was and still is taken care of meticulously. Car is in excellent shape
