I would strongly advise you to drive the car as little as possible and prepare to spend a couple grand on the new updated cylinder heads.

I had the head tick for two years starting at 43000 miles.

I had heard that it would be just an annoyance and not a real problem.

Two years later, it became a huge problem. Damaged valves, pistons, and a car that no longer functions.

It's a whole new engine and clutch for me. Hope you get this fixed soon. then it will be only heads.

I would think that before we start changing engines and tearing motors apart the noise should be properly diagnosed. Some guys hear a noise and all of a sudden they have "THE TICK". there are so many moving parts in these motor / cars. It could be anything, valve lash adjusters, cvalves, timing chains, tensioners, bell housing componetns etc.etc.etc. These "noises" need to be diagnosed not just assumed what they are. I hope it works out for you OP.
