I bought the car around 2 years ago and still trying to sort some of the mods out . I am not sure what the final drive is I thought it might be 3;73 but I am not so sure anymore . 1st and 2nd gear go by so fast dont really watch what the speed is when hitting 6000 rpm but in 3rd it hits redline at around a 100mph . I am thinkng maybe 4;10 gears know but could not find any RPM charts to help. Thanks for any help

Why not pull the cover and see what's stamped on the gears? Gives you a chance to inspect everything while you're in there.

Thanks for the help . I finally found a gear calculator on the internet , they are 3.73 gears . I live in the midwest so there ok for out here . If i was back out west where speed limit is 85 MPH like Utah they would be tough on the wallet there.

If you’re going to be doing a lot of highway driving, just remember that the .63 6th gear in your tranny ain’t going to be much fun if cruising at high speed. Ask me how I know. Lol

3.73 is a great gear for that car IMO. 4.10 would be a tad too much on the early 500's.
