08 Rev Limiter

Do our cars have a hard fuel cutoff instead of an electronic rev limiter? I had the car out the other day for some spirited driving and got on it hard. When it hit the rev limit(or what I assume is the rev limit) the engine just cuts out completely. Is this normal? I have purchased an MSD 2-step that I have yet to install. Will the 2-step rev limit be more even?

I have an '09 and have hit the rev limiter several times and it does not cut the engine. It just 'bounces off" like other cars.

Stock rev limiter is a fuel cutoff to my understanding rather than a spark cut.
If you are adding an MSD or N2MB, it will be a spark cut.
I would do an N2MB if I were you instead of the MSD and get some extra functionality and likely less headache

I may try the N2MB after reading about it. I can use the MSD for some other project I suppose.
