I don't think this is the road kill section. Not even sure of the races. Red car seemed faster with less gear and you stole the hit.

Not sure what you mean, That is where 4th runs out.

what rear gear do you have and what RPM are you shifting? I run 4th till 140+ with an effective 3.60 rear end ratio (3.73s and 28" tall tire)

also not a good idea to run WOT in 5th/6th too often, lots of load on the motor and clutch

I have the stock 3.55, shifting about 5900rpm at 135mph as the car doesn't really feel like it gains anymore speed at that point and is flat between 5900 and 6200 (limit). I really don't want to bounce on the limiter at that speed as this is my DD. I also don't really like to race in 5th anyway. My tuner told me in this heat his car doesn't pull timing and mine will, that could have been the difference. It was 90degrees and the humidity was 18% in mexico that day.

The '08 seems to make more power unless he is gaining ground when the '10 shifts.
I also think my goes 140 in 4th

I see, so you ran past 130, that makes some more sense, IMO better to let out around 135-140 (6200) and end the run there. IMO - If you have a handheld, I'd get my limiter raised to 6500 and plan to let out at 140 max MPH. My $.02

If his car is tuned, it'll pull timing in the heat, all competent tuners will have that built in safety feature.

Funny he says that his car with the C&R/Revan heat exchanger is the one that pulls timing. LOL.

It's the shift to 5th and the other car's off-road mid-pipe that's getting you.

Great runs. The '08 is def a little quicker due to the jlt intake and o/r x but I thought by the 3rd run the '08 woulda got a little heat soaked.

sounds like you were short shifting. i think driver mod could have beat the 07.

We are going to race again and switch cars. I feel like I'm have more seat time at the track, street, and strip than anyone i personally know. Maybe I got rusty, we shall see.

2010 got the hit and the 08 pulled. You need to get lined up and then honk, not honk on the roll up and then click off 2-3 honk. Seemed like the 10 driver was trying to get the jump on each roll. Driving practice should be in store for the 10 driver, heard a lot of shifting excuses going on.
