To compare I went 10.2 at the 1000ft mark and went 12.2. Your mph should be a little higher. Were you powershifting? -Mark

Didn't powershift, not sure I want to do that at this time. Just wanting to work my way up to it. What 1/4 mile time do you think. Thanks

12.65-12.75 :shrug: or somewhere around there. Once your powershift you'll see a difference in mph. Your tranny can take it. -Mark

Seems that your mph should be a little higher in the 1/8th? With that mph I would guess around 12.80 to 12.90 @ 108-110. But like 98 N/A 4V said "Shift that sucker"

What should my mph be in the 1/8th and the 1000ft, with a powershift from 1st to 2nd. I've done that lots of times on the street. Not sure about doing a 2nd to 3rd. Thanks

Hey Stimeybob: Another fellow Arkansan in here, great! In regards to your times, Id think your speed should be a little higher too but this heat does take its toll on our cars. Here are my times at Centerville back in March on a 65 degree day. My only mods were a K&N fipk and a Borla Stinger catback. I was on stock tires and pressure and only speed shifted.

60' 2.07
330' 5.53
1/8 8.36 @ 87.8mph
1000' 10.59 @ 102 mph

With your mods should be around 89-91 and even faster on a cool day. It looks like your getting through the first part but losing on the top end of third.

My 1000' is always about 2 seconds before 1/4, so I'd say you'd have run a 12.5-12.6 even though your MPH is low. The heat and being on 18's isn't helping.

When my only mods were a K&N FIPK and Borla Stingers my best 1/4 on stock F1s was:

60' - 2.2
330 - 5.641
1/8 ET - 8.391
MPH - 90.81
1000' - 10.737
1/4 ET - 12.714
MPH - 114.19

After my 2.93 pulley and tune my best 1/4 with the IRS and Nitto DRs was an 11.8 @ 120. I can't find the slip, but the 60' was a 1.9, 1/8th ET was a 7.6. My best 1/8th mile with the car set up the same way is a 7.62 @ 94 mph.

Thanks to all for the comments! Aceler8 I do agree with you, It does seem that I'm losing on the top end. The day I ran those times was very high humidity. I've had a hard time off the line, rearend hopping. I've tried from 1500 rpm to 3500 rpm and slipping the clutch. That run was 1500 rpm and hammering it, no spin and the best 60 ft. so far. I agree I'm losing on shifts by not powershifting. 1st to 2nd has been pretty good, but 2nd to 3rd is horrible. The next time I go is not this sunday but next. I'm going to be ready and powershift 1st to 2nd. Not sure what I can do about 2nd to 3rd. any ideal would be great! Thanks to all.

This might help, when you are in 1st gear in full throttle, go ahead and pull with some steady force towards second, it will not jump out of gear, slam the clutch fast as you can and it will pop right into second, now go ahead and apply steady pressure towards third and do the same, if you can remember to do that it will help. Just work that clutch as fast as you can, but insure that you do push far enough to engage it.

hey Stimey, I had an almost identical run through the 1/4 and I have very similar mods to you. On street tires my times were: 60' 1.923, 330' 5.293, 1/8 8.124@ 86.04, 1000' 10.589, 1/4 12.661@ 109.15 I'm running the stock h-pipe, but otherwise we are very similar. I think the main thing that is hurting us is the predator pully tune. With a custom tune and an O/R H I think I can easily get 12.30's or better

new times today

Just got back from centerville (local track), first time to run since this thread started. Here's the four runs! 1000ft. track
Powershifted on third run only, spun for about 8-10 feet on shift from 1st to 2nd, no powershift from 2nd to 3rd but seemed to be 3.2 mph faster on top end.

1st= .7336, 2.0632, 5.4559, 8.3275, 86.57, 10.5864, 99.23
2nd= .8442, 2.0348, 5.3833, 8.2336, 88.10, 10.4676, 99.91
3rd= .4426, 2.0445, 5.4062, 8.2544, 86.57, 10.4926, 103.14

Last run was a bracket race. 11.00 dial in, my best reaction & 60ft.

4th= .5952, 1.9491, 5.3056, 8.2775, 76.96, 11.1888, 74.05, winner!

How can I stop from spinning on powershifts, without DR's. Thanks :burnout:
