For those running 10s with an eaton.

What gears are you using and are you happy with them ?

Thanks

I'm assuming that you are talking about blower only with roughly 500 rwhp (give or take )

With a 26" tire 3.73s work very well. If you still have the stock 6500 rev limit, you can trap a little over 134 with 3.73s.

I think that a 3.90 would be the optimal gear if you are trapping right around 130.

It would let you trap 128.9 at 6500. If you raise the limiter and go through the traps at 6700 you can do 132.9.

I had 3.73s with the eaton and ran a best of 10.89 @ 129.9.

If for some reason you want to run a 28" tire, a set of 4.10s wouldput you at 132 at 6500.

the best thing for an eaton car to run 10's is to get out of the whole. Meaning, a tall sticky tire will work best. a 38" tire with either 3.90's or 4.10's would be optimal.
Im still waiting on my 15" wheels and 28" tires so I can try my 4.10's at the track.

I agree can't go wrong with 4.10's and 28' tire. I'm to order some 28' 325 MT DR, once I'm done building my rearend in the next couple weeks:banana:

What tires have you been running. With a six speed, I strongly suggest a bias ply DOT slick or bias ply slick for optimum 60 fts and ET. If you are looking for a good compromise between street and track, I'd stick with the DR's.

Ive had 3.55s and a 26" ET drag combo on my car for a while now. My best 60 FT has been a 1.43 (running a 9.93 @ 142), but my 60 fts are inconsistant with the 26" slicks. In less than perfect track conditions, it consistantly runs 10.2s with a 1.5x 60 ft. In search of consistancy and a 1.3x 60ft, I'm going to swap to a 3.90 gear with a 28x10.5x15 ET drag. A lot of people with manuals and 28" slicks run the stiff sidewall slick to healp keep the car stable on the shifts.

For the street, I'll be switching to a 275/60/15 (28") MT DR.

With the T56 I would recommend the following:
26" tire - 3.73
28" tirs - 3.90

Since the Eaton falls off quickly at high RPM so you don't want to cross on the rev limiter.

3.90 28" tire, but I also ran the 3.90 with a 26" tire with much success. My tire change was when I went to more boost. Harley upper/6lb lower, I ran the 26" tire. When I switched to a lightning upper/6lb combo I had a bunch more torque and went to the 28" tall tire.

I run 410's in my car with 28's, if your running 26's I would probably go 390's. I cross the stripe about 6300-6400 in 4th @ 125mph

solid axle or irs?

I ran 26" ET drags last Fall with 3.90's and it was too much gear for my car. The first pass I shifted into 5th...:nonono: I like to cross between 6,200-6,300 RPM.

You obviously like what you like but with the 3.90's and the 26" tire would you have had to shift if you ran right up to the rev limiter?
