Hey guys so I thought I would share with you the Mach 1 detail I did today. When I first arrived the car was filthy and full of scratches. I was told the car had been sitting outside in the back yard for almost a year. I thought the owner was exaggerating until I saw that the tags on the car expired in 2012 lol. The owner had dogs that had basically scratched the paint to hell and back. The car needed to be wetsanded in multiple areas before attempting to compound. I had a lot of time in this car and hope you guys enjoy the pics. Unfortunally I had no sun shots due to the driver side rear tire going flat on me. I will get sun shots when i get a chance. On to the pics!

Looks like your using the GG6 with CCS pads with M105/205? Fill everyone in on the correction process.

I honestly cannot stand 105. It dries to quickly and hazes the surface to much.

I used a Makita Rotary, Griots Garage and my Flex 3401.

I used 2 wool pads, 2 orange pads, a white pad and finally a grey pad.

I use mostly wolfgang and pinnacle products.

    I used 3m wet/dry automotive sandpaper.

True. You wouldn't believe the amount of wetsanding I had to do. Also there were about 12 different spots of bird etchings in the clear.
    Thanks!

    Thanks man!

105 is a tough product but can be a great compound if you know how to work the product. I myself am not a fan as well and like menzerna polishes. I do however want to try M101, heard great things about this product.

How do you like the Rupes?

Man you guys are speaking Spanish. I wish I knew how to do this stuff. I've got small scuffs/swirls that could be taken out, just don't know how. Any place to research this stuff to understand how to do it?

Actually YouTube has a TON of vids of detailing "how to." One thing to keep in mind is the types of equipment, products and techniques used. Take a look at ChemicalGuys, Ammo, and Autogeek- they give pretty good in depth info. Just realize that these techniques take practice and just because you watch the vid it doesn't make you a pro. There is def a learning curve for a top notch detail- especially at the pro level. But you gotta start somewhere right?

    Much better!

Hopefully this detail will bring back the spark i'm sure the owner felt at one time about the car and not let this happen again.

    Good job! Came out awesome.

Question though: What do you do for the mach1 stripes on the lower part of the car there. Going to be doing a full detail on my GTCS soon and I'm wondering what I should do with the stripes. Just tape them off? What did you do?
