13/14 Gloss black tail light and decklid alternative

I'm all for the blacked out look of the 13/14 rear end but sometimes the gloss just gets on my nerves. Mainly because light scratches and finger prints are very visable on the decklid.

So I want to share this easy to do alternative '13 owner has posted on one of the Boss forums. I'm thinking about giving it a shot when spring comes around. What do you think?

Only thing I'd do different is get darker paint. If you look closely the decklid/lights are a shade lighter than the wing

I don't understand why you wouldn't just remove from the car, spray then re install ... Those parts come off pretty easy and then no chance of over spray.

you should have installed an rtr deck lid. And then painted it all.

I love this. Have been wanting to do this for a while. The gloss doesn't go with the flat wing and stripes I have as well as the paint would. Will prolly do this in the spring

Looks good but the gloss looks better! And damn I see that car everywhere. I love the plates too.
