hey guys, tried searching but couldn't find a lot of info

going to grab some cheap 17x9 wheels off AM for the back of my 12gt500 for local drag days, only using a few times a year.

my question is what tire size should I run? im hoping to run 275/40/17 Mt or hoosier drag radial.

I have 3.73 gears in my car, should I be running something slightly taller?

sorry for the rookie questions

thanks for any help with info

have you taken the car to the strip already? What does it trap?

mods/power?

most guys with 3.73s run a 28" tall tire. Those are only 26"

haven't been to the track yet, and haven't bought the tires yet was hoping someone would chime in with an opinion

was thinking the 26" might be to short but wasn't sure

well the answer is it depends, if you are near stock power levels, they are probably ok. a 28" will have a better foot print

Why not go with a 15"?

Yes stock power level, didn't want to have to do relocation brackets so thought cheap 17" wheels would do the trick,

I'll be doing local club events a couple times a summer on the track that's it.

Thanks for your reply stkjock I appreciate it.

I run M&H 325/45/17's on 9.5 inch Shelby Torque Thrust Wheels.
If you haven't yet, I would strongly suggest a drive shaft upgrade. I twisted mine right out of the car launching on the M&H's
