17x9 cobra r style rim

i have a 17x9 rim on my 98 cobra.
i have a 275/40/17 tire on there now.
looking to upgrade to a MTDR
Can i go to a MT ET STREET DRAG RADIAL P295/45R/17
on the 17X9 rim? or is this to wide a tire for this rim??
anybody have this set up now??

when i look on a website on the MT tires,
people have responed to previous questions;
will a 295/45/17 fit a 17x9 rim and customers say yea no problem!
But if figured someone here might have done it? or advise not to.

Doesn't MT run a little narrow? I know people that put a 315 on a 9" wide rim....

I know nitto runs small a 315 is more like a 295 with other brands

It will physically go on the wheel, but that doesn't mean it doesn't look like shit.

i dont think a 295/45/17 would look bad on a 17x9 rim??
a 45 is a little taller tire and would feel the wheel well better and hook up better.
nodbody is running a MT 295/45/17 ON A 17x9???

those 295's will fit fine. 27.2" overall diameter is nice.

17 x 9 rims

finally got my 295-45-17 mt street radial.
they fit the 17x9 rims real nice feels the wheel well a little more.
they dont really buldge out at all.
cant wait for spirng to see how they hook up
