18 inch CCWs and spacers?

I have a set of 18x11r and 18x9.5f CCW wheels on the way. When I asked the salesman on the phone he did not sound too sure about telling me that this will clear the IRS bolt. Can anyone tell me for sure?

i find it fascinating that a set of custom made wheels would require something as lame as a spacer. why not just make the wheel with the right offset in the first place?

I should rephrase that. He said that it shouldn't need one. I am just wanting to be sure if anyone else has had an issue on their car. I would not want to spend that much on a custom wheel and still have clearance issues.
