A friend asked me to help with a build for his wife of a car that has been in the family a very long time. Car is a May 64 build date 260 3 speed I believe. Supposed to be a solid shell, but currently has a non-running 89 302 drivetrain available. Is there anything about this being an early car that would lend me to pushing to go back original vs updated restomod?

What does the owner want? What would his wife want, budget? How long do you have to complete the project? Like every thing else you don’t know what you have got till you open it up, could be lots of hidden things or could be a solid car. You need a lot more info to make a reasonable decision

Totally thinking mild restomod. I took my Shelby back from mild Resto mod to all original and wouldn't wish that on them, but I thought there was some early run of 260 cars that had some extra rarity to them. I wouldn't want to cut up a rarer model. Most stuff would be more along the lines of bolt on anyway.
