I am just telling an entertaining story, purely fiction....
My 19 year old son took our 27 year old 5.0 Convertible out for a cruise.
Our 87 has Ported and Polished heads and intake, cam, + the usual bolt ons.
It has a 3200 stall and Nice meaty 275/50/15 MT DRs.
He bumps in to a nice 03/04 manual tranny Mach 1 with headers and bolt-ons.
A friendly discussion happens at the light and when the light goes green both cars roll out slowly, then the Mach takes the hit & nails it in 1st.
My son follows shortly after and the big MTs hook hard in 1st in to 2nd and by 55mph the 87 had the Mach by about 1&1/2 cars.
I had a 03 Mach and it was pretty quick, I am pretty shocked by the outcome.
The Mach driver was cool and they chatted at the next light.
My son has piloted his manual tranny 2005 Mustang GT with only a cai & canned tune (290rwhp SAE) to a 13.3@104 on a 1.9 60' on street tires, so he can drive.
