I have a 1994 GT with a little over 120,000 miles. It just started idling very rough. When driving it sounds fine but at idle it sounds like it has a big cam in it or something. Can anyone tell me where to start?

Thanks!!!!

When is the last time you did a tune up (plugs, wires, cap, rotor)? That could be a start. Also, did you check all connections? Make sure the MAF is in good shape. My buddy had one go bad on his 95, but you'd probably feel it in the top in if it was bad. Good luck.

Get a new IAC valve. Cleaning them is hard and won't do near as much as getting a new one. Just look at your throttle body, chances are that has nothing to do with it. Maybe run some injector cleaner through your next tank check your air filter, and see if you can't do a test on your MAF meter. I wouldn't recommend trying to "clean" it because you could mess up the wires. You can probably find a stock one on ebay or a local mustang forum for about $10.
