1st time at the track

I went out to the track for the 1st time and my best for the night was a 13.4. I was hoping to at least break 13. I was launching at 2000-2500 and shifting at like 6300-6500. my tires were still good, they were 275 Riken Raptors that it came with, and i have a bassani catback as my only mod. am i not doing something right, or does that time sound about right??

I ran a best of 12.5 @ 115 with the mods in my sig on 275 street tires. Try launching a bit higher and just throttling it through first until about 4500rpm and lay into it. Worked for me at least

get some nitto drags & irs brace, mgw shifter... i cut a 1.70 60 with 315' on the stock 17x9 rims

those mod will help alot man did u power shift?

I'm running 12.3 @ 113-114 on a Nitto 275 555R DR. I'm cutting 1.79 60s. I was getting 12.8 - 12.9 on the Sumihomo garbage tires the car came with. Tires help ALOT.

FWIW my car isn't even pullied, you should be in the 11s with a good pulley.

Were you texting while going down the track? I don't mean to sound harsh, but that is pretty slow.

Either you're blowing your tires off launching, or you're shifting extremely slow.

i just took mine 04 vert 2 weeks ago to the track for the first time also only mod is borla exhaust my best time was a 13.310 at 108.95mph on street tires

throw a set of real slicks on there, rev to 4k rpm and dump the clutch, shift around 6500 rpm.

buddy of mine in went 12.69 with stock size tires on 555's, his only mod is cat back. I dont know how he did it but i saw the slip. he said he was launching at 4k and riding it out. I my self am having trouble with my launchin and i keep trapping 115-119 mph but cant break 12.2. So i need to work out my launching issue and maybe i can make up a 1.0 in my time, cause i should be able to run 11.5-11.7. so in a stock cobra with out the best driving skills and a muggy humid day, yeah you may not break 13's.
