So I'm about to pick up a Gen II 2.3L whipple set up and I was thinking of going with a 3.25" or 3.0" pulley set up instead of the 3.5" pulley that's on it. My question is, will I have enough fuel if I'm running GT pumps and 60lb injectors? Also, will I actually see 2.5 or 5 more lbs of boost by switching to the 3.25" or 3.0" respectively? Thanks...

You should see about a 2lb gain per .25" of smaller pulley. The 3.0 might be a little much depending upon your fuel quality, are you a 93 state?

Just did mine, 15psi with a 3.25" pulley, 63lb injectors and the Walbro 'improved' FGT pumps on 91. Plenty of fuel, could probably go 3.00" if i wanted.

Fuel wise you should be good. I will be running a 3.0 on my Gen 1. BAP and 60s. You should see 17psi with a 3.0 which is about all you want to run on pump from my understanding. My Gen 1 will be 15ish psi.

Gen 1 owner here

3.5 = 13 psi
3.25 = 15 psi
3.0 = 17 psi
2.7 = 20 psi.

While we're on the subject of Gens, what are the differences between the Gen I and Gen II of the 2.3L whipple? I've searched but I can't seem to find a straight answer...

So whats 2.9 then 18-19 psi?

Probably 18 psi. I ran a 2.8" pulley and it managed about 18.5 psi but I may have had belt slip as I reused the same belt from my 3.0 pulley. I immediately too that pulley off and slapped on my 2.7". I just wish I could find a 2.6" some where.

I don't believe there really is a difference. 04sleeper is the only guy I know of who swapped from a gen 1 to a gen 2 whipple and he reported a 2lb gain per pulley like advertised.
I know sleeper managed 22psi with a 2.6" pulley with cats on his gen 2.
I'm currently at 20psi (20.6 in certain conditions) with a 2.7" pulley on a gen 1 with out cats. I've heard that cats can add 1/2lb of boost. So if I had cats and a 2.6" pulley I'd be damn close to 22psi on my gen 1.

Also I read in a magazine that positive displacement blowers are rated at how much air they move per revolution. So how can a 2.3 Whipple gen 2 move more than a gen 1 at the same pulley size (the same rpms). I also believe this to be true as the 2.3L tvs makes the same boost per pulley as my gen 1 2.3l Whipple.

I have a Gen I 2.3L had it rebuilt last year by John Bond Performance. I contemplated switching to a Gen II but negated the price difference. After discussing with John the main difference is the rotor design. Gen II is a bit more efficient a few more CFMs with the same rotor speed. The only other difference is they removed the sight glass from the front housing and put a level gauge in the oil fill location.
I am running a 3.5" upper and a 4 pound lower. Pushing 19 psi. 60lb injectors with a stock pump on stock returnless system with a Kenne Bell Boost a Pump.
Made 595hp and 590tq boost alone
649hp and 624tq with 50hp dry shot
AFR was at 12.7 pretty much all the way across the pull.
SCT tuned by Injected Engineering in Kennesaw Georgia.

You should be good on fuel. If I was to start all over again I would have bought a bigger whipple. Maybe a 3.4L and ran the stock lower pulley. I cant complain though, still gets 22mpg on the highway.
