2000 Cobra R 6 Speed Trans Question

On the 2003 Cobra, I haven't heard any mention of the 1-4 Skip Shift, that is typical with all 6 speeds!! I am sure it must have it... but none of the press release stuff has mentioned it!

Does anyone know if it has the 1-4 Skip Shift?

Does anyone know if the 2000 Cobra R came with the 1-4 Skip Shift?

The 2000 R does not have the 1-4 skip shift like on the Z06. I have a friend who has a Z06 and he hates it. He will be getting his fixed to remove this feature. Nothing but a PITA!!

I am not sure if the new 2003 Cobra will use the same tranny as in our R's (Tremec T56) or not?? but I doubt it will come with this feature on it. I think the only reason it does have it is because of emissions or mileage requirements?

Maybe Mike can answer this question as he has both an R AND a Z06??

I kniow why it is there... GM has to use it to pass the Mileage (Gas Guzzler) that is why.

Ford prolly didn't worry about that for the Cobra R... or it still passed.

I just wonder if the '03 Cobra will have it. If they didn't do it on the 2000... that could very likely mean they will try to not do it on the '03... which would be nice! It is a PITA!
