I vividly remember watching this video when I was a kid.

That was the first "new" Mustang I ever liked.

Good watch.

Hard to imagine a time where 12.4 was the fastest 1/4 mile time in any comparison lol

I recorded this on VHS. I still have it. I love the 2000 Cobra R. That car still holds up today. That car in a few years will begin to appreciate in value.

Will begin? Rs began appreciating in value as soon as they were released! While I've never been a fan of the cars myself, if I ever have F you money I'll have a '93, '95 and '00 R. Probably a '17 GT350R for good measure.

But lower than original MSRP? Because last I checked, they were still demanding coin.

Oh yeah. I've seen some sell for as low as $42k-ish. Now they're closer to $50k.

Then I stand corrected (as far as the '00 R)! Still, not much of a depreciation when you consider they MSRP'd for what, $54K? And I was just eight years old when they were new, so I know nothing of their ADM or whatnot. Lol

There was one on Ebay that ended today sometime that had 0 bids and the buy it now was $43,600. It had 2800 miles or so.

With only 300 being made, they are going to be rare at some point...but when you look at their performance numbers...it's not very impressive.

On paper the 00R is not as impressive as newer cars, but from the drivers seat the car is a real blast. The balance is almost perfect, loads of mechanical grip, the differential is great out of the corner, and the car is as stable at 150 mph as it is as 50 mph. I would not sell mine for $50k.

Oh yeah, don't get me wrong..they're a blast to drive. My dad's had 2 of them....and one he owned twice.

They just don't compare to modern cars at all.

I'd say if $50k was your price...you will enjoy it for years to come! And I don't blame you one bit.
