Guess I should have been more specific. Looks like 4th gear is good to 120 or so. I'm just wondering if 5th (which basically an overdrive gear now) will actually provide more speed with the 4.10 gears?
You can go 125 with 4.30's. 4.10's should get you in the 130's. I'm doing 4.56's and can get to 120 if I wind it out to 7k with custom cams.
With my redline at 6800, i top out at 121 mph with 4.30's
Gonna change out the stock 3.55 gears with 4.10's. Looks like 125 mph will be top end with 4.10's. Can anyone tell me if 5th gear will provide more top end speed?
First off, 5th is a overdrive no matter what rear gear you have. So yea 5th will give you more top speed then 4th but you don't what to do WOT pulls in 5th. Plus there is no need for it. Why do you think people set there cars up to top there 1:1 gear(4th) out in the 1/4 or 1/8 if its a track car. Plus a cars performance is junk in OD in most cars.
:burnout:4.10's will be going in on March 9th::burn:
236 mph stock? I think your numbers might be a little off...Dont know why youd want to go faster than 125 but you should have no problem pegging out the speedo with 4.10s.
