Well, because it isn’t my car you’re buying, I’ll chime in with an actual number. If he’s got all the documentation for the car, low owner, and is in the condition you say it’s in, I think a safe offer for a coupe would be 35ish. Possibly a little more or less for a convertible, depending on what you prefer. I’m in CA, so convertibles are worth a bit more.
