2011 GT squealing/rattle with vid

I cant quite figure this one out. ive got a 2011 GT A6 (intake, tune, headers, off road x, and 1pc DSS drive shaft) checked headers and heat shields. my car does not make this noise when going over bumps or rough roads, only seems to happen (so far) after about 20 mins of driving and car is fully warmed up. sound is much louder when coasting but also audible when cruising but more of a squeal when cruising.

second vid you really hear it after 57 seconds and on

sound is very high pitch squeak, sound does change with speed. and basically stops when under 20 mph. and doesn't usually make this noise till fully warmed up and been driving.

got it up on the lift last night and it seems that the 1pc driveshaft is making the noise. turning it with your hand and making it wiggle makes this noise, I assume that when coasting its not under load and makes it rattle. so my next question would be is cv joint or u joint?

im also wondering why it does not make noise until after 20 mins of driving?

Ask DSS and tell them your DS is making noise. They should be able to help out.

The heat from the exhaust or something might cause the noise, if it's after 20 minutes.


I'm just taking a guess there, don't know for sure.

DSS thinks the CV length may be off the length needs to be between 3 1/4 and 3 3/4.
