I ordered the Boss Shifter knob and boot for my car last Friday (actually before I flew to Houston to buy the car) I installed it last night and its a big difference from the old factory rubber shifter. It's a lot less bulk and easier to find the gears, kinda feels like a tri-ax with a slight spring loaded third gear. Looks ten times better too. I paid 30 for the boot and 46 for the knob. I'll email pics if anyone's interested.

Maybe I misunderstood, but it sounded like you only changed the knob and boot. How do you have a difference in shift feel (ie. the spring comment?)

Changing that bulky ass knob makes a big difference, out of second you can pretty much push up and its goes right to 3rd gear.
