I have a 12 500 with a 3.4 whipple kit on it. The kit included a BAP, and is tuned for 91. I dynoed at 707. Im looking to increase power. what could I co without going over the top? A friend recommended E85, ID1000s, and a smaller pulley. What would that put me at? What is the breaking point? i hear the rods, at what point do they give? Thank you for the help.

It's all in the tune.

E85, Injectors, and a smaller pulley, are probably going to be your only option in reaching the limit, if you are limited to 91 octane. If you don't already have long tubes, they could free up 30+whp.

I'm guessing you already have an upgraded heat exchanger? You want the car to stay cool and consistent, with it not pulling timing due to heat soak.

Most common number being thrown around is 800whp. Some folks have success at 850, but your tune better be spot on.

Check out another post for some good fuel mod recommendations for going with E85.

You have a 3.4 Whipple with stock injectors and 91 octane...??? LOL

ID1300s and E85 will wake that mfer up. That'd be the first thing I'd start with.

Thank you very much. I will look it into it. I will add a heat exchanger too, but not longtubes just yet. Do the ID1300s flow more than the ID1000?

They flow more, for sure.
ID1000s 96lb/hr @ 39.5 PSI($960 for 8)
ID1300 127lb/hr @ 39.5 PSI($1800 for 8)

You throw 60PSI at an ID1000 and it's now 112lb/hr, etc. Injector Dynamics website has good figures for both injectors at different PSIs.

ID1000's with enough fuel pressure will take you to the breaking point. ID1300's if you want to window the block, and go with an even smaller pulley on the forged rebuild.

LOL I'd never pay 1800 for 1300s or 960 for 1000s. I got my id1000s for 675 shipped.

I just did a quick price check on American Muscle/VMP for him to give him an idea of the cost difference really. Share your source for cheap IDs and be helpful at least.
Cool thine jets pickle. When the time comes, he can PM me and I'll set him up.

LMAO. I didnt realize such a huge price difference!! Are the ID1300s needed, or will the 1000s work?

Used?

OP, you have a ton of headroom with that blower. A Whipple 3.4 putting out 707WHP is definitely understressed. A 2.9 can do that without even breathing hard, no pun intended. I wouldn't worry too much about the rods. The general consensus is that the guys breaking rods are the ones trying to rev out to 7500+RPM. Keep the RPM in check, and the stock rods will probably handle whatever you're likely to throw at them. I wouldn't do a smaller pulley just yet. You need to work on other (in)efficiencies in front of and behind the blower.

By other mods first, are you talking about longtubes, and heat exchanger? Thank you!!

Yes. Long tubes, throttle body, if not already upgraded, and cooling mods.

No

He can EAD I guess? *shrug*

He puts everything he has into his product and the retailers selling it are keeping food on their and their employees' tables. Screwing over good people and the industry that we all love to save a few bucks isn't cool. Surprised this sort of talk is even permitted on this board.

Thank you, I have the whipple kit, so it came with their TB, along with their tune. Im in CA, so im a little worried about running non carb compliant (visually) right now. I know LTs are badass, But im thinking of passing on them right now. Thats why i was thinking about E85, and a smaller pulley. /shrug.
