The new GTI's are pretty legit. I have heard bad things about VW's, but these have a great power to weight ratio going for them

I've got some new found respect for those MK7 GTI's. VW definitely underrated them. After looking at what they put down after stage 2 tune and downpipe, this result doesn't surprise me.
