well you can lose about 40 lbs with wheels, 30~ lbs with a cat back, and take out the back seat for another 30~ lbs and you have 100 lbs right there.

I am. ;) Check out my build thread occasionally.

100-150lbs is easy savings. Catback is 30lbs....Battery is 13lbs....DS is 10lbs....Seats 50......and much more. Removal of the Cats is likely another 7-10lbs.. Wheels are a big one too, especially if drag racing. I am also going to be using a prototype set a Aerospace Front brakes too.

Here is a teaser of our S550 K-Member in development. Should save a good chunk!

Didn't know about the aftermarket exhaust being 30lbs less than stock. Good stuff!! That is a must mod for me now.:banana::beer:
Regarding the rims I think we need more options for the S550.
The rear seats will stay in my car as I already have a 13 stripped to the bones..

How heavy are the A-arms and radiator support on the S-550?

Got a bunch of your great parts in my 13.

no A-arms on the front, 2 lateral links instead that should be pretty lightweight already. the rear lower control looks pretty damn beefy though, a coilover swap and tubular control arm made specifically for a CO should drop some unsprung weight.

I wonder how much weight would be saved since it's aluminum and a H design (I'm assuming the replacement would have to be H design also?)?

that's why i mentioned switching to a coilover, so you could eliminate the coil bucket altogether in the control arm(more A-arm, less H-arm). like you aluded to, it would be pointless to make a fabricated steel H-arm with the coil bucket.

I'm pretty sure the stock exhaust is filled with concrete. It is ridiculously heavy (and restrictive) compared to aftermarket pieces.

If thats the case I will happily donate the 72lb catback one here to the town to fix the damn roads next to us
