To celebrate Richard Petty’s 80th birthday next year, Petty’s Garage embarks on its third year building custom Mustangs with 500 limited-edition 2017 King Edition Mustangs, including an ultra-limited run of 43 silver vehicles to celebrate his storied racing number.

“We couldn't be more excited to continue our relationship with Ford Motor Company and announce our builds of the 2017 Mustang," Russ Stellfox, Chief Executive Officer, Petty's Garage, said. “These vehicles will carry a special meaning with a scheme that will honor Richard Petty and his 80th birthday in 2017. The silver design is the same as the 25th anniversary scheme that the famous No. 43 raced in 1996. We're honored to offer this to our fans and customers and believe that these machines will be in high demand.”

As part of the 2017 lineup Petty’s Garage will offer both naturally aspirated and supercharged versions of the Mustang GT. The company is also expanding its line to include an EcoBoost model, described as “the most radical EcoBoost available to purchase from your local Ford dealer.” It includes the same race spoiler, center-exit exhaust and custom mirrors found on other King Edition Mustangs.

You can order the Petty’s Garage Mustangs from your local Ford dealership and pricing starts at $35,000 for the entry-level, non-supercharged model. No matter which of the four versions you chose these vehicles retain a warranty. The naturally aspirated, EcoBoost and 675-horsepower supercharged versions carry a full factory warranty, while the 825-horse Premier edition carries a third-party powertrain warranty.

According to the company, these vehicles continue to grow in popularity and this will be the largest production run to date.

As long as Ford continues to offer low hp factory models, aftermarket types, ( Shelby, Roush, Petty, etc. ), will fill that void.

Yeah, I’m so used to seeing the tuner pricing tacked onto the vehicle pricing that my mind filled in the blanks. The starting price is pretty reasonable.

Thanks for the info, mp2641. I was trying to hold out for more details on the cars from Petty’s but I wanted to get it posted in a timely manner.
