I ordered a 2016 Gt350 in Nov 2015 at my SVT dealer with the understanding this gives me the right to order a 2016 R at no up charge.
Received my 2016 Gt350 early May of 2016 and ordered 2016 R same day with large deposit. Trade in my new 2016 GT350 for 2016 R , was told R due to arrive in Aug 2016 so I pass in the keys of the 2016 Gt350 in Aug 2016 , but no R shown up , dealer states R was now going to be received in spring of 2017 and would be a 2017 model. That order than getting push to 2018 R by Ford , reordered as soon as 2018 order banks are opened. Car finally enter production on April 26 2018 but still not shipped.

I would bet money that your dealer never got the allocation for the R they were expecting, and held your cash until they got one.

Well here it is boys I just received the Shelby 350R and yep my rims are ****ed. The front ones are half painted as you can see in pics. I am soooo pisssed and I don’t even know what to do....

Like I said in the other thread. It's a warrantable issue.

Have the dealer send in photos to Ford Motor Company. I imagine they will replace the effected wheel(s) entirely.

If you are referring to the white, that is a special coating to protect the carbon fiber due to the high heat of the front brakes.

Hmm. Just a hunch but maybe you want to do some research on the front splitter install too. Sounds like your dealer is as versed with GT350's as I am with a deeper understanding of the female brain.

WOW! A classic example of people buying GT350s and not knowing what they're buying. LOL The R's front wheels are supposed to look that way. It's the ceramic coating that protects the carbon fiber from all the heat generated by the brakes. The same coating is also on the backside of the front wheel spokes.
