2nd rear main seal leaking

Well after getting my engine completely overhauled and that brand new RMS started leaking, i changed it last winter and after driving it all summer now this one is leaking. WTH is going on here? Anyone else have this issue before? I have crankcase vents on both sides too. The seals i used were Ford OEM

Is it actually leaking at the seal itself or is it leaking from the plate that holds the seal? Is the oil slinger still installed?

Leaking from seal, not the plate.

I keep reading about this “oil slinger” but i don’t know what it is.

I don’t think my engine builder installed it because i replaced the seal once before and i didn’t see anything but the seal there. But then again i don’t know what I’m looking for.

Is it behind the rear main seal on crank?

Will it help stop these leaks?

I forget which is installed first. But you have the slinger then the seal or vice versa. It’s 2 pieces total.

Oil slinger

Are you guys installing an oil slinger with the rear main seal, or leaving it out? I don't recall having one when I pulled this apart, but the manual shows it and I might have just forgotten.
