Just came across this website which is claiming to offer a 3.3L stroker kit for any 3.0 Duratec motor from a Taurus, Windstar, Sable, etc.

Tom Morana Racing Engines

Has anyone seen any other stroker kits available for either the 2.5 or the 3.0 motor?

As many of you know, I have a strange obsession with getting as much displacement from an engine as possible. (I'm building a 4.6 based 5.3L 323 big bore stroker motor)

According to the website
"Morana V6 Racing now offers Stroker Kits for the 3.0L V6 Ford Enthusiast! Vulcan engines only

Compatible for all 3.0 V6's incl. Rangers, Probe, Sable, Windstar, Aerostar 86-2006

All short block, long block, or complete Stroker Engines require a $300. US. core charge

A Stroker Kit is forged replacement engine components (forged piston, forged connecting rods, performance piston rings, bearings, and Stroker crankshaft), which is much stronger than stock internals, and a good solid foundation, for those who intend on using boost e.g. Nos, turbo charging or supercharging, or N/A
Approx. 40 hp.

3.3L Stroker Kit consists of-
Cast steel crank, Eagle forged H-beam connecting rods, Diamond forged pistons, Total Seal performance piston rings, Clevite or SpeedPro bearings- $2,500. US.
Able to handle supercharger/turbochargers/nitro well into the 20 lbs. range. This kit can handle up to 7,000+ RPM's

Our Stroker Kits alone, will yield approx. 30 hp. & 30lbs. torques.

3.3L Stroker Short, consists of- engine block, pistons, rings, connecting rods, performance crankshaft(your choice) bearings, timing chain, balanced & assembled- $3,800. US.

3.3L Stroker Long Block, consists of-
all the above plus heads(match porting, 3 angle valve job, custom head stages avail)FelPro gaskets, roller lifters, pushrods, roller rockers, balanced & assembled- $5,500. US.

3.3L Stroker Complete Engine, consists of-
all the above plus, timing cover, intake manifolds(match porting)gaskets and oil pan-
Able to handle supercharger/turbochargers/nitro well into the 20 lbs. range. "

Is this something that would work in the engines that are swapped into Contours? Or is it for an entirely different 3.0 V6, like the pushrod variety?

The site also offers lots of other neat parts, including performance intakes, and even an intake that allows you to bolt on an Eaton M112 blower from a super coupe.

Bummer. No interchangeability with the crank?

Are those pushrod engines?

Any other options to be able to increase the displacement of the 3.0 motors beyond 3.0? How much extra bore can they take? Does anyone at all make a stroker crank?

I know the 3.0L motors do have a nice assortment of performance parts for them, being that they are standard issue in the "Noble" cars.

Interesting fact: An Aston Martin 6.0 V12 is actually two Duratec 3.0L motors put together.

Sure, it all comes down to $$$. SHO Shop way back when was looking at developing a 3.5L IIRC but never panned out due to the cranks costing so much and SS going under.

im lost ! so the vulcan engine is from iron and duratec alluminum so the stroker is not good for the contour ?! and is it better than a 3.0 swap

Its like comparing a pushrod 302 motor to the new 302 motor. Two different animals that share nothing.

Even if they did make one for a duratec motor someone would need to produce the equipment to make the car handle the power you would be trying to put to the wheels...

Right now it would be pointless to produce the equipment to build a motor that big for a car that's to light to dish out 20lbs of boost and serious horse power...

Check out the forum; #49's new powerplant has arrived, let the build begin, by a guy named CSVT#49 on contour.org. It's a power build going on with a 3L and more whose working on cracking the code and making his CSVT capable of big numbers but as of right now it's a one of a kind.

Also should note, Contour.org has tons of good information about the performance and the ins and outs of these cars.
